Colored Pants | Everybody, Everywear

EBEW: DIY

when: tuesday, june 14, 2011

what i wore:
tank: american apparel
necklace: DIY t-shirt restyle
cardigan: american apparel
belt: american eagle
pants: vans via clothing swap
shoes: target

where: work

you may have seen a similar outfit on me last week if you saw this guest post. i wanted to re-wear it but the cardigan is not in my 29 items and i felt it was a touch too colorful to wear to work (although i did wear this to work during the last remix challenge…), so i swapped out the pink tank for the black one.

doesn’t it just make you want to dance?

song: “push it” by salt-n-pepa

and then i won $3.

when: monday, june 13, 2011

what i wore:
top: zoey via anthropologie
necklace: lilac saloon
belt: target
jeggings: american eagle
wedges: lela rose for payless

where: work, bunco

have you ever played bunco? i joined a summer league with some ladies from our church and i wore this to our first gathering. i didn’t know most of them, so i wanted to look cute but not too crazy. it cost $2 to play and because i had the most wins at the end of the night, i got $5! so, basically i won $3. beginner’s luck, for sure.

i got this shirt on our honeymoon almost five years ago and actually have never worn it by itself. i usually only wear it under this sweater. i actually think it is meant to be sleepwear. so it was really a shocker that i included it my 29 items. i tell ya, this 30 for 30 will make you do crazy things.

did you all have a nice weekend? ours was spectacular! you can read about it here.

what i wore:
tank: american apparel
cardigan: american apparel
skirt: american apparel
shoes: converse via target

where: adventureland!

my friend missy has 1-year-old triplet girls. i tell you this because for her mother’s day gift, her husband arranged a girls’ day to our local amusement park. so i totally needed comfortable shoes to walk back to the tilt-a-whirl three times and waterproof bottoms for those rides that make you sit in other people’s leftover wetness {i’m lookin’ at you, ragin’ river}.

i get motion sickness, but i showed up with my dramamine and brave pants skirt on. and i only had to sit out of a few rides all day. actually, it kind of frustrates me that i can jump out of a perfectly good airplane but can’t handle the himalaya. {however, after hearing about the mysterious bruises and whiplash that my friends experienced the day after, maybe it’s a good thing.}

roller coasters = good
space shot = awesome
anything that spins = no, thank you

almost famous.

when: saturday, june 11, 2011

what i wore:
sunglasses: gift, original penguin
shirt: ruche
belt: target
dress: pretty good via tj maxx
shoes: simply vera vera wang via kohl’s
reusable shopping bag: gift, koko city shopper

where: farmers’ market

the des moines farmers’ market is one of our favorite things to do in the summer. it’s a really big deal around here. there are more than 200 vendors and 18,000 people there every saturday morning from may to october. last weekend was our first visit of the season. we ate breakfast when we got there (a breakfast burrito for eric and mini donuts and a smoothie for myself), and then walked around and bought some cheddar cheese popcorn. i’ve been enjoying it all week!

so, funny story: i asked eric to take photos of me at the market so you could see all the other people and vendor tents. as i was posing i noticed a guy about my dad’s age watching us. after a while, he walked over by eric and took a picture of me on his point and shoot camera! it was so funny. and weird. i’m not sure if he thought i was famous or what. i wanted to tell him, “dude, i am not sara bareilles. if you want to see someone famous, shawn johnson is here and you should go find her.”

all the single ladies.

what i wore:
headband: forever 21
glasses: charlotte russe
top: ruche
jeggings: american eagle
sandals: target

where: work

today eric told me i was crazy and that he can handle the headband or the glasses, but not the two together.

so hippie nerd is what not to wear if you’re single and looking for a man. just a heads up. you can thank me later.

can you tell i’ve been learning from the man repeller lately?

to counteract this outfit, i wrote a post for you on our family blog about 8 cheap date ideas. you know, to get that romance back.

peace out, homies!
